About the Exhibition
David Bowie and photographer Masayoshi Sukita met in London in 1972, where Sukita had traveled to experience the thriving music and art scene of the time. Sukita went on to become a key figure in creating the public image that David Bowie chose to display to the world.
Their friendship and collaboration lasted for 40 years, resulting in numerous iconic images. Now, 100 photographs are being shown for the first time in Gothenburg; among them, the iconic cover for the album Heroes.

Images from the Exhibition
Masayoshi Sukita was born in 1938 and after completing his photography studies, he moved to Tokyo to work as a fashion and advertising photographer. He has held several major exhibitions featuring his photographs of David Bowie at venues including the Brooklyn Museum in New York, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, and the Paul Smith Space Gallery in London.
Reviews of the exhibition
